Create Amigurumi

Amigurumi E kingsley (400 x 302)Amigurumi is a trend developed in Japan that has spread throughout the world. “Ami” means to knit or crochet and ‘nuigurumi’ is a stuffed doll. These are most often small animals that include a variety of facial expressions found in the Anime style of drawing cartoon figures. Amigurumi animals usually feature exaggerated characteristics such as an over-sized head on a cylindrical body with undersized extremities, resulting in an adorable creature. Learn the basic forms after learning crochet basics which are then customized to an animal of your choice. Students may bring their own yarn and crochet hooks or purchase them from the instructor for $10. The class is open to ages 12 and above and the deadline for registration is February 1.

This is a one-day session on Saturday, February 9 from 10 am to 2 pm. Bring a lunch or buy lunch downtown. Class cost is $30 for members of the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council and $40 for non-members.
