Delegate Sustains Knee Injury

Just days into her 16th session in Annapolis, Kent County Delegate Mary Roe Walkup, 85, fell and sustained a knee injury that kept her off her feet and out of the General Assembly until March 1. During her time away, Walkup said she was in constant contact with her aide via e-mail and phone. She was able to file the bills offered by Kent County officials and returned to present them at a hearing on March 10. She also introduced several bills since her return. As for this fall’s election, Walkup said she has not decided anything yet, saying that her focus is on the session and what the people of her district sent her to do.
