DGH Nathan Foundation Donation0113 (400 x 300)The Nathan Foundation recently presented the Dorchester General Hospital Foundation with a $15,000 donation in response to their annual appeal requesting funds for improvements to the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Department.

The Nathan Foundation has supported Dorchester General for many years through a bequest allocated for supporting the local hospital. The Nathan Foundation was created to honor the legacy of Milford Nathan, a local entrepreneur, and his sister, Bertha. Mr. Nathan served as chairman of the board of Cambridge Maryland Hospital, which became Dorchester General Hospital in 1974, where his wife, Estelle, was also a registered nurse and served as the director of nursing. The support of the Nathan Foundation has been constant throughout the years and has helped provide funding for many improvements and equipment needed at Dorchester General Hospital.
