East Coast’s Largest BBQ Event, Pork in the Park, April 20-22

April is a busy month in Wicomico County! Pork in the Park BBQ Festival is April 20th – 22nd at WinterPlace Park in Salisbury, MD.

The most popular show ever to portray the world of competitive barbeque, BBQ Pitmasters is coming to Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism’s 9th Annual Pork in the Park BBQ Festival. The third season of BBQ Pitmasters, premieres on the recently announced Destination America on Sunday, June 3 at 9pm E/P, but filming begins this spring – making Pork in the Park, the East Coast’s largest Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Competition a perfect stop for the series.

BBQ Pitmasters will be on-site throughout the festival, which runs from Friday, April 20th through Sunday, April 22nd. The show will film on an open set, meaning that the public is welcomed to watch as three BBQ teams face-off through a series of challenges to reveal the winning team.

In addition to watching the BBQ Pitmasters compete, Pork in the Park offers festival-goers a weekend packed with entertainment options. On Friday night, the Froggy 99.9 Country Showdown is on tap while Saturday features the Mountaire Chicken’ Pickin’ and Piglet’s Korner (free children’s area). On Sunday, the 2nd Annual Cornhole Competition returns as the Eastern Shore’s Best Wings Competition is introduced crowning a Maryland State Champion in best wing, most unique and people’s choice.
