Eastern Shore Delegate Elmore Dies at 71

The family of Republican Delegate D. Page Elmore says he has died. He was 71. Family members say Elmore died after battling a recurring cancer. He was being treated at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Elmore, who served as chairman of the Eastern Shore Delegation, had announced last week that he would not seek a third term representing his Lower Eastern Shore district. In a statement, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley said Elmore served the people of the Eastern Shore honorably and his service in the House of Delegates will be missed.
