Estate Treasures to host 50’s themed event

Treasures, an upscale resale shop operated by Hospice of Queen Anne’s volunteers, will hold a 1950’s themed event on Saturday, September 20. The event begins when the store opens at 10:00 am and will continue until closing at 4:00 pm.

Estate Treasures features gently worn fine clothing, career and formal apparel, fashion accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, small antiques and other donated “treasures.”

Store volunteers have planned every detail of the event to make shoppers feel as though they have been transported back in time. Estate Treasures managers Linda Sheets and Renie Madonna promise that the shop will be hopping with music and memories of rock and roll’s heyday. Volunteers will dress in period-style clothing and store décor will feature images of 50’s icons including Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, James Dean and Elvis Presley. Shoppers will sample 50’s themed refreshments such as milkshakes and glass-bottled Coca Cola.

Merchandise will be reduced by 50 percent for the event and shoppers will have the opportunity to win door prizes throughout the day.

In 2013, Estate Treasures donated a record-breaking $112,414 to Hospice of Queen Anne’s primarily from shop sales and special fundraising events. Total donations to Hospice of Queen Anne’s from Estate Treasures over its 23 years of operation has topped $1,800,000.

Estate Treasures is located in Chester at 17 Kent Towne Market. For more information about Estate Treasures, call 410-643-7360. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and services provided by Hospice of Queen Anne’s, call 443-262-4100 or visit www.hospiceofqueenannes.org.
