“We rely solely on community donations, sponsorships and fundraisers to offset the expenses associated with our grief programs for children and teens,” said Rhonda Knotts, HQA grief services coordinator and Camp New Dawn director.

Although the cost per camper for this 3-day, 2-night camp is more than $200, Hospice of Queen Anne’s only charges a $20 registration fee per camper. This ensures that every child who needs to attend camp may, even if they are unable to pay the registration fee; no child is turned away due to inability to pay.

Camp New Dawn is set to kick off on August 11 and continue through August 13 at Camp Pecometh in Centreville. Applications are currently being accepted for campers and adult camp buddies.
