Fearless Watercolor Painting

Understanding how to use watercolor and applying the techniques involved can be challenging and terrifically. Popular area artist and instructor Sally Clark returns to the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council’s Centre for the Arts, for a five-week course “Fearless Watercolor Painting”. Students will be taught lessons in the color wheel, watercolor techniques and color properties followed by a painting exercise to gain a better understanding of this flexible medium. Prior knowledge of watercolor painting is beneficial but not required. Established students may build on existing skills while beginning students benefit from introductory lessons and the instructor’s guidance.

Classes begin on Tuesday, March 6 and run through April 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Clark is a former art educator who now works as a full-time artist. Her watercolors and whimsical designs on furniture are on display in several galleries and held in private collections. She is co-owner of Artists Gallery in Chestertown, Maryland. A list of required materials will be provided to registered students. The registration deadline is February 28. The cost is $126 for members of the Arts Council, $147 for non-members.

Center for the Arts classes are designed to renew existing artistic interests, and to develop new skills. Registration materials are available at 206 South Commerce St. in Centreville, Maryland Tuesday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm, or by calling 410-758-2520, online, www.arts4u.info , or request via email at exhibit@arts4u.info. The Centre receives support through a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council.
