A Celebration-Remembering Twenty Five Years is the theme for the 2010 Festival of Trees, recently announced by Chairmen, Mary Lou Macdonald and Claudia Knox. Stay tuned for a very special commemorative event! Midge Menzies and Leslie Ware, Talbot Hospice volunteers who founded the Festival of Trees in 1985 will serve as Honorary Chairpersons.
Friday, November 26th kicks off with a Preview Party at the Tidewater Inn and the festivities will continue throughout the weekend with the spectacular Decorated Trees, Homes Tour, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Dance, Holiday Bingo, Fun Run Walk and Candy Cane Lane, along with holiday shopping in the Elf’s Shop.
Additional events are planned prior to the festival starting with a Christmas in July Kick Off with a ribbon cutting celebration at Lanham Hall Designs followed by dinner at Martini’s Restaurant on July 27th. Both businesses will donate 20% of the sales to THF. Other events include a Fashion Show on Oct. 29, Santa’s Got A Brand New Bag Dinner on Nov. 5 and the Crab Claw Restaurant benefit on Nov. 16. Westphal Jewelers will donate a beautiful piece of jewelry for a raffle.
Individuals, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate in the Festival by sponsoring a Christmas tree. Sponsors may decorate their own tree or be assisted by the creative FOT volunteers. Trees are available from 4 to 10 feet in size, with prices ranging from $500 to $1,200.
