The Republican Club of Queen Anne’s County will announce the winners of their first annual Miss Queen Anne’s County Republican Club competition, Wednesday evening during the Queen Anne’s County Fair.  Club President Tim Kingston will preside over the awards presentation.

Kingston will be joined by elected officials, members of the Club executive committee and the Teenage Republicans of Queen Anne’s County, to announce the scholarship recipients.  The three winners  were competitively selected by a special committee of the Republican Club, and had to complete an application, essay and interview portion of the competition.  Contestants were required to demonstrate outstanding academic  achievement and commitment to serving youth in their communities.   Each winner will receive a book scholarship to assist with educational expenses.

Members of the Republican Club said the competition is one of several initiatives designed to encourage greater involvement in the Republican party.  Miss Queen Anne’s County Republican Club, will represent the Club to youth across the county.  Her official duties will include public speaking and presentation at various Republican events throughout the year, active participation with the Teenage Republicans and advocacy on youth issues as an honorary member of the Republican Club of Queen Anne’s County.
