The Chesapeake Bay Commercial Fishermen’s Association has chosen to end its participation with the Blue Crab Industry Design Team, a watermen’s group formed in March to look into the management of Maryland’s blue crab fishery. The commercial fishermen’s association is opposed to the design team’s partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund, a non-profit organization with a history of promoting controversial catch share management of fisheries.
