The Frederick Douglass Honor Society’s next meeting will be on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 6:00pm at the Easton Welcome and Resource Center on Harrison Street. Members and community are invited to attend and learn about the progress that the Society continues to make toward its mission to erect a memorial to Frederick Douglass and to promote his legacy of education and human rights. Final preparations are being made for Frederick Douglass Day that will offer the community entertainment for all ages, excellent food, and educational activities at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on 10/23/10. With the Families and Friends of Asbury Green Chapel, the Society will sponsor a Holiday Cabaret at Krystal Q on 12/4/10 which will usher in the holiday season with a festive party complete with music and dance. The public is encouraged to attend the October 18th meeting of the FDHS to learn additional details about the project, the many activities promoting the Society’s mission and to volunteer to be a part of this exciting effort.
