The Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library was established in 2013 as an essential bridge between the community and library with the goal to generate financial support for the library and its programs and encourage greater user of the library and its resources.

The Friends are sponsoring two events for all residents and organizations to become a Friend. Join the Friends at the Centreville library from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2014 or the Kent Island library from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014 for an opportunity to learn about the Friends and its planned activities, sample sweet treats, enter a raffle to win two Barnes and Noble gift cards, and meet the Friends Board of Directors and other Friends of the library.

The Friends’ signature 2014 project is to support the library’s summer reading program. Plans are also underway to hold a book sale, the proceeds of which will support and expand library programs and services.

Join the Friends at the $25 Member level and receive an exclusive Friends Library Card. Additional membership levels from $50 to $500 provide expanded benefits such as a two-day grace period on return of library materials, discounts for purchase of items at the Friends book sale, a behind-the-scenes tour of your library, reserved seating at Friends events, and the ability to sponsor a program or event.
