Compass Regional Hospice hosted its annual golf tournament for 18 foursomes on May 16 at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville. The event raised more than $23,000 that will be used to provide hospice care and grief support for people of all ages in Queen Anne’s, Kent and Caroline Counties.

The 84 golfers who played in the 2016 Compass Regional Hospice golf tournament participated in many activities, including a putting contest, hole-in-one and closest to the pin competitions, and bidding on silent auction items. Door prizes were also awarded at the closing reception.

“As a non-profit organization Compass Regional Hospice relies on the financial support of the community to ensure that we are always here for children, teens and adults who need us when they have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or grieve the death of a loved one,” says Executive Director Heather Guerieri. “We thank the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who supported us this year and Prospect Bay Country Club for their expert management of the tournament.”

Gold sponsor for the Compass Regional Hospice Golf Tournament was William J. Ogden. Silver sponsors were American Legion Benedict A. Andrew Post #296 and Black Dog Propellers. The lunch and reception sponsor was Kent Island American Legion Post 278.
