Goodman Joins Hospice of Queen Anne’s Medical Team

Valerie Goodman, DO 2 (228 x 400)Hospice of Queen Anne’s welcomes Valerie Goodman, DO, as an associate medical director. She joins the Hospice of Queen Anne’s medical team of Jeffrey Ukens, MD, medical director and John Durocher, MD, associate medical director. In conjunction with the medical director, Dr. Goodman will direct the care for hospice patients receiving General Inpatient Hospice Care and conduct onsite visits at the Hospice Center to assess the patient’s condition as needed.

Dr. Goodman, who is board certified in Family Medicine, has been in private practice since 2001 at Shore Family Medicine in Centreville, Md., part of the Shore Health / University of Maryland Medical System. Additionally, she provides part-time, midlevel care at Easton Memorial Hospital’s Fast Track ER Department. She also serves on the System’s Electronic Medical Records and Information Technology Committees.

Dr. Goodman earned her undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathy. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where she was Chief Resident during her final year of residency.

Hospice of Queen Anne’s is the only free-standing hospice facility on the Mid Shore offering General Inpatient Hospice Care, a highly specialized, short term level of care for terminally ill patients in crisis in Queen Anne’s and the surrounding counties. The goal of this focused care is to control acute, intractable pain or other uncontrolled symptoms which cannot be feasibly managed in any other settings.
