Last Thursday evening, thousands of fans flocked Baltimore’s 1st Mariner Arena to experience the multi platinum and Grammy award winning band Casting Crowns put on an outstanding performance.  Earlier, members of the band took time out of a hectic day to join the students, staff and parents of Lighthouse Christian Academy to share a devotional and explain the importance of balancing music, family and ministry.

Drummer Brian Scoggin and guitarists Juan DeVevo and Hector Cervantes visited PRS Guitars early in the day and finished their factory tour with a visit to LCA which is located on Thompson Creek Road inside of Island Alliance Church.  Hector delivered an encouraging message to the crowd and then the entire band fielded questions from the children and parents.

“We’re thrilled that the band has taken an interest in the school…that they would take time out of their tour schedule to speak with the children is amazing” said Christoph Koenig, administrator of the academy.

The group has shown support for the school’s annual auction over the years, and this year is no exception.

Later on Thursday evening backstage, the band autographed a PRS guitar which will be an item at LCA’s upcoming auction to be held on March 20 at Prospect Bay Country Club.  The PRS SE One Korina guitar will join dozens of live and silent auction items, great food and live entertainment.  “We hope that this item will help to bring new faces and friends to our auction this year” stated Mary Beth Lambert, who has helped facilitate the auction for many years.  “It’s always a wonderful night to see our school families, but it’s even more special when new friends from our community join us to share the night.”
