Grasonville Man Stabbed at Chester Home

HOME A Grasonville man is in critical condition at Shock Trauma after being stabbed. Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s deputies went to 1836 Sherman Drive in Chester for a disturbance, and while en route had a call for a stabbing. The person who had been stabbed, George Anthony Whitaker, 46, was at 15 Grasonville Terrace. Whitaker was taken by ambulance to Grasonville Elementary School, and then flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Detectives went to 1836 Sherman Drive and found Derrick Beasley, 34, of Easton, the alleged stabber. Beasley told police he stabbed Whitaker in self-defense, and in defense of other people at the home. Beasley was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for treatment of a knife wound to his hand. Police said Whitaker is under a protection order and is forbidden from contact with April Bordley Hilton, who lives at the Sherman Drive address. On May 10 of this year, Whitacre received a 60-day suspended sentence for violating that order, according to court records.
