A Greenhouse Production Conference has been scheduled for anyone interested in starting a greenhouse to experienced greenhouse operators. The conference is ssponsored by the University of Maryland Extension and Maryland Greenhouse Growers Association.
The workshop will be held on Thursday March 4th from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at Chesapeake College HEC110. Topics will include: Biological and Chemical Disease Control, Controlling Thrips, Whiteflies, and Aphids on Bedding Plants, Fertilizer Injectors and Sprayers in Greenhouses, Spotlight on Gerberas and Verbena: Major insects and diseases, Fertilizers in Bedding Plants, Diagnosing Bedding Plant Problems, The Little Things Matter When Producing Quality Spring Crops and Making Cents of Typical Greenhouse Crop Costs.
These sessions will be taught by University specialists, educators, scouts and experts from the field. Maryland Pesticide Re-Certification credits and Nutrient Management Credits will be available at this conference.
Registration fee $40 per person ($20.00 for 2nd person in business/spouse). This fee includes the workshop materials, continental breakfast and lunch.
