Junior Blynda Chen will represent Gunston in the 2014 Maryland All State Senior Chorus this weekend.  Members of the All State Chorus were selected from nearly 1,500 students registered to audition last November across the state.  Blynda will travel to Baltimore on Friday to rehearse for two days under the direction of Dr. Duane Karna from Ball State University’s School of Music.  The weekend culminates with a public concert at the Murphy Fine Arts Center of Morgan State University at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 23.

Gunston singers George Bowie, Blynda Chen, Meghan Moorhouse, Tong Shen, Stacey Shi, Kendyl Walton, and Jack Wilson qualified for the All Shore Chorus on the basis of their auditions earlier this month. They were selected from nearly 300 students across the Eastern Shore of Maryland registered to audition.  In the coming months, they will prepare for a public concert in the Wicomico High School auditorium at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11.
