Harris Back in the Running; Kratovil Faces Serious Challenges

Republican State Senator Andrew Harris says he officially is going to announce his plans to run in Maryland’s 1st District congressional race. Harris has scheduled four public appearances including ones in Bel Air, Annapolis, Easton and Salisbury. Harris, who is an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, lost a close race against Representative Frank Kratovil in 2008. Kratovil was the first Democrat to win in the district in 18 years. Libertarian Richard Davis has already said he is running again. The large district includes all of the Eastern Shore, as well as parts of Anne Arundel, Baltimore and Harford counties.
