Hilderbrandt Art Exhibit at Tilghman Island Inn

Don Hilderbrandt is the featured artist at Tilghman Island Inn until August 3, 2010. A reception will be held on July 30 from 3 to 5 PM. Mr. Hilderbrandt is a watercolorist focusing on land and waterscapes. Educated in landscape architecture, he interrupted a successful painting “sideline” in 1979 to pursue his primary profession. In the 1970’s Mr. Hilderbrandt received numerous awards and was represented in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Michigan and New Jersey.

The exhibit features over 40 paintings from the 60’s and 70’s as well as current paintings from his resurrected career begun in 2006 after retirement from urban planning and landscape architecture. Don’s paintings and drawings can be seen at his studio at the Tidewater Studios at 3 Harrison Street across from the Tidewater Inn. He received the Sam Hemming award for watercolor at the recent Academy of Art members show.
