Historic Sites Consortium of Queen Anne’s County Launches“First Saturdays” Tours


The Historic Sites Consortium of Queen Anne’s County launched their “First Saturdays” tours of
more than 20 historic sites Saturday, May 3, continuing every first Saturday through October 4.
Sites include the Sudlersville Train Station (1885), Dudley’s Chapel (1783), Centreville’s Kennard
African American Cultural Heritage Center and Museum (1936), Old Wye Mill (1682), and
Stevensville’s c. 1809 Cray House. Hours vary.
Founded in 1995, the Historic Sites Consortium of Queen Anne’s County seeks to educate and
involve residents and visitors in the history of Queen Anne’s County. The Consortium supports
the preservation and stewardship of the region’s cultural heritage; develops and promotes
heritage tourism throughout the County; and enhances the management and sustainability of
its historic resources.
