Wendy VanNest, Director of Family Services at the Talbot Hospice Foundation, was recently honored by The Hospice & Palliative Care Network of Maryland at their 2009 Awards Luncheon. She was presented with the ‘You Make a Difference’ award. The luncheon was held on November 18, 2009 in Bowie.
In her work as Director of Family Services, VanNest oversees the In -home Hospice and Pathways Programs. Pathways is a pre-hospice program, which offers non-medical supportive services to residents of Talbot County who are facing the challenges of a currently progressing, life-limiting illness. Wendy coordinates families with well-trained volunteers, needed equipment, counseling and medical education. She strives to establish a caring team of support for families and caregivers.

Her beautiful hospice heart is evident to all that she meets, and she always has a smile upon her face,” said Julie Crocker, Executive Director. “Wendy is truly a focal point of the Talbot Hospice Foundation.”
