Hospice Network of MD Awards Talbot Hospice Family Services Director

Wendy VanNest, Director of Family Services at the Talbot Hospice Foundation, was recently honored  by The Hospice & Palliative Care Network of Maryland  at their  2009 Awards Luncheon.  She was presented  with the   ‘You Make a Difference’ award.  The luncheon was held on November 18, 2009 in Bowie.

In her work as Director of Family Services, VanNest oversees the In -home Hospice and Pathways Programs.  Pathways is a pre-hospice program, which offers non-medical supportive services to residents of Talbot County who are facing the challenges of a currently progressing, life-limiting illness.  Wendy coordinates families with well-trained volunteers, needed equipment, counseling and medical education.  She strives to establish a caring team of support for families and caregivers.

”Wendy’s personal mission has been to provide every hospice family with the resources they as need as quickly as possible.  Her beautiful hospice heart is evident to all that she meets, and she always has a smile upon her face,” said Julie Crocker, Executive Director.  “Wendy is truly a focal point of the Talbot Hospice Foundation.”
