Hospice of Queen Anne’s Benefits From Eagle Scout Project

When Bradley Smith joined the Boy Scouts at seven years old, he decided it would be fun to take his Dad’s old scout uniform and put it to good use. At the time no one imagined Bradley’s determination would take him to Scouting’s highest level, Eagle Scout.

Bradley’s scouting years were filled with memorable adventures, learning experiences and achievements all leading up to his attainment of Eagle Scout.

Bradley completed his Eagle Scout project last summer and the benefactor was Hospice of Queen Anne’s. A beautiful gazebo for the families of our patients was build and presented to Hospice of Queen Anne’s by Bradley Smith. It was made possible by the vision and determination of Bradley and supported by Hospice of Queen Anne’s Volunteer Coordinator, Deb Gilmer. After completion, Jeff andMelissa Quinn of Quinnworks donated the windows, installed them and donated the furniture to complete the interior.

The gazebo is now a place for families to find solitude as they cope with losing a loved one. And, our volunteers find the gazebo a place of privacy for themselves as well.

After completing the construction on the gazebo, Bradley then completed his project workbook and turned it in for approval. On March 28, 2010, Bradley sat for his Eagle Scout Board of Review and officially earned Scouting highest rank.

From all of us at Hospice of Queen Anne’s, congratulations Bradley, we are so proud of you.
