Families, friends and the community are invited to join Hospice of Queen Anne’s staff and volunteers for the annual Celebration of Life event on Sunday, May 1, 7 p.m. at the Kent Island Yacht Club in Chester, MD. “A Legacy of Love and Laughter” is the theme of this year’s celebration.
This special non-denominational event allows hospice and community families and friends to reflect on the precious lives of those who have passed away between April 2010 and April 2011. Loved ones may be recognized in a special slide presentation with photos provided by family members.
“The photo slide show is a unique aspect of our celebration,” said Bereavement Coordinator Rhonda Knotts. “Everyone loves to see happy memories and recall family stories that represent their loved ones doing what they loved to do,” she said.
During the event, attendees are invited to light a candle and share thoughts and memories as their loved one’s name is read aloud and their photo is viewed. Light refreshments will be served following the program, providing a time for fellowship with families and hospice staff.
Families are asked to send photos before the event to Rhonda Knotts at rknotts@hospiceofqueenannes.org. For additional information call 443-262-4109.
