Hospice of Queen Anne’s honored its active volunteers and presented several awards at a special appreciation dinner held on May 25 at the Grasonville VFW. The event was sponsored and hosted by the Lions Clubs of Queen Anne’s County and Grasonville VFW.
Volunteer Coordinator Deb Gilmer noted that the volunteers of Hospice of Queen Anne’s contributed an astounding 24,884 hours of their personal time and talents in 2010 which, if paid out in the hourly dollar figure assigned to volunteer workers, would equal a $531,522 investment.
“In kind heart, passion and caring your contributions were priceless,” said Gilmer.
Executive Director Heather Guerieri thanked the nearly 150 volunteers present for their continued efforts and for sharing in the commitment to provide a host of services to patients, families, staff and the community.
