Hospice of Queen Anne’s To Offer Volunteer Training

The Hospice of Queen Annes will offer training for new patient and family volunteers this October.  These volunteers may go wherever our patients may be in Queen Annes County: their homes, our Hospice Center, Corsica Hills Nursing Home, or an assisted living facility. Hospice patients will be in the last 6 months of their lives; some are in the active stages of dying, even others may still be driving. Come join us and learn how to communicate and bring support to them and their families, no matter where they may be in their disease process. The experiences you will have will be incredibly rewarding.

This volunteer training will be held at the Hospice Center Conference Room, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617 from 9:00-3:00 PM on October 5, 7, 12, and 14th. All the sessions are mandatory and meet the requirements of the Maryland State Regulations. There will be a $25 fee to help cover the expenses of materials and supplies.

For more information or to have a registration form sent to you, call Debbie Gilmer, Coordinator of Volunteer Services at 443-262-4100 or e-mail her at dgilmer@hospiceofqueenannes.org.
