Hospice of Queen Anne’s Welcomes Volunteer Director Jennifer Thomas

Jennifer “Jen” Thomas, a Queen Anne’s County native, recently returned to Kent Island and joined the Hospice of Queen Anne’s team as director of volunteer and professional services.

Thomas has more than 12 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations where she specialized in community collaborations, volunteer partnerships and fundraising. She holds a bachelor’s degree in recreational science from Frostburg State University.

Most recently, as network director for Western Maryland Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Thomas focused on initiatives relating to increased access to oral health care in the tri-state region of Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Under her leadership, a $20,000 national grant was awarded to AHEC, providing a two-day free dental clinic for needy area residents.

She has served on several committees in the Cumberland community dedicated to increasing physical fitness and wellness for youth and adults. An avid runner and fitness enthusiast, Thomas regularly competes in races and triathlons. She resides in Stevensville with her husband and two children.
