Jean Marie Dance Student Selected To Attend Disney Collage Program

A big congratulations to Justin Sanger of Chestertown! Justin was chosen out of hundreds of hopefuls to be part of the Disney College Program. Justin auditioned on a national tour and was delighted to be selected to attend college. It has been his dream to sing and dance at Disney World. Justin was a student at the Jean Marie Dance Studio, LLC in Grasonville.

The first Disney College Program began in 1981 with just over 200 students from 20 schools working at the Magic Kingdom. As of 2005, 8,000 students have participated each year, representing at least 301 colleges and universities. Applicants must meet specific requirements in order to be accepted into the program. Students must be 18 years or older and must be enrolled in one of the accredited universities or colleges as either a full-time or part-time student and actively taking classes. Students in the program are given the option of one of several program seasons throughout the year, each usually lasting between five and seven months.

With over 25 years experience as a dancer, singer and actress, Jean Marie has worked on stage in the U.S. and abroad. She has performed at Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland, in Hollywood shows, and in Las Vegas where she danced with such notables as Siegfried and Roy, Lance Burton and Debbie Reynolds. She has taught at Maryland Hall, Ballet Theater of Maryland, Peabody, Queen Anne’s County Arts Council and for St. Jude’s Ranch working with special needs children.

As posted in her own words on her web site, “I believe the art of DANCE is always changing, I continue to study dance myself and will always work hard to bring you the best, I have indeed found a love for teaching.” Jean Marie’s studio is located at 115 Pullman Crossing Road, Suite 104 in Grasonville.
