Members of the Kent Island Garden Club recently held Act 1 of their annual plant sale on a very rainy Saturday morning in historic Stevensville. Thanks to all who came by to help us with this fund raiser.

Saturday, June 1, Act 2 of the KIGC plant sale will be held as part of the “Art Market” sponsored by the Historic Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District located at Historic Christ Church from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. We will hold our famous Wheelbarrow Raffle, filled with many Garden Goodies! If you are still looking for perennials for your garden, please stop by!

Thursday, June 6 Kent Island Federation of Art is hosting a reception from 5 to 7 PM to celebrate their latest art show – “Eastern Shore Nostalgia: Rustic Buildings and Structures”. Members of the Kent Island Garden Club will interpret the artwork with flower designs. Please stop by to witness a real “Art in Bloom” evening.

Thursday, June 13 members of the Kent Island Garden Club will host a Horticulture Specialty Flower Show “Books in Bloom”. The show will be open to the public from 1 to 4 PM at the Kent Island Library. Categories of display will be annuals, perennials, herbs, trees and shrubs with two educational exhibits on recycling.

Kent Island Garden Club, member of District I of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, was established in 1978 with the mission to stimulate the love of gardening, to foster home and community beautification, to foster the art of flower arranging, to promote better horticultural practices and to encourage all forms of conservation.
