525ffc423ba1c.preview-300KENT ISLAND GARDEN CLUB MEMBERS WIN HIGH  AWARDS AT THE STANDARD FLOWER SHOW PRESENTED BY THE  FEDERATED GARDEN CLUBS OF MARYLAND

The Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland presented a Standard Flower Show entitled Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow at the Vollmer Visitor Center at the Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore. The show was open to the public from  June 3 – 5.

Several members of the Kent Island Garden Club entered various classes of floral designs. Charlotte Hardman won the highest awards given with her design of all fresh floral material which featured white calla lilies. The design was  awarded first place in its class, the Tricolor Award which is granted to the best overall design in the show and then also received the most prestigious award, the Mrs. Edward A. Maher Award, which is given to the highest scoring design requiring all fresh floral material.  Linda Armigar of the Kent Island Garden Club received a first place award for the Still Life design she presented. Diana Bonner, also of the Kent Island Garden Club, earned a second place award for the design she created consisting of all dried floral material.
