Read to Rover
For Kdg-5th grade
Thursday, January 9 from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Tuesdays, January 14 and 28 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Read to a dog from Pets on Wheels to develop reading skills and confidence. Please call (410) 643-8161 to register.

Mother Goose on the Loose 2.0
For 3 months-36 months with adult
Fridays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.
Nursery rhymes, songs, movement, puppets, and story followed by playtime. The new Mother Goose on the Loose app complements 1 or 2 of our 30+ rhymes/songs.

Teen Writers
Monday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m.
For 6th-12th grade
Creative writing workshop featuring your choice of poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction. We’ll try free writing and specific prompts with a goal of submitting to the library’s creative arts journal, Voices & Visions.

Art at Noon
For all ages
Every Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
An old library book can become your canvas as you practice creative expression using recycled materials. Work on group projects and make an individual piece of mixed media art to take home. Gain experience with scissors, glue, paint, oil pastels, and more. Materials vary weekly. Hosted by artist Glenn Shiring.

Special Event Art at Noon event– January 18 at 12pm – Alphabet Soup Warm up over winter break by creating a bowl of alphabet soup using recycled and repurposed library CDs, letter stickers, and more!

LEGO® Marble Maze
For ages 4-12
Tuesday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m.
Use base plates and LEGO® bricks to create a marble maze. Test it out, then trade yours with a friend. Great for motor skills, pattern making, sequencing, problem solving and planning, concepts of direction, and language development. If you have a base plate, please bring it along. We have 15-20 to share.

Snowflake Splendor
Wednesday, January 22 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon
For Kdg-5th grade
It’s a wintry fest of traditional paper and fancy snowflakes and some edible snowflakes, too! Led by Theresa Connelly of QACCCA. Please call (410) 643-8161 to register.

Voices & Visions Release Party
For all ages
Monday, January 27 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Enjoy refreshments, music, and readings when you stop in to pick up your copy of the second volume of the library’s creative arts journal.
