‘Eastern Shore Impressions’, an art exhibit of over 80 one of a kind pieces of art, is currently on display at the Queen Anne’s County Visitor Center (Chesapeake Exploration Center) at the Narrows through the end of March. The call for Kent Island Federation of Arts members went out in December, announcing that the county had invited them to show their artwork at the popular Visitors Center. The show’s focus is overwhelmingly eastern shore, with artistic interpretations of the people, water, boats, waterfowl, and natural landscapes, uniquely known as the eastern shore. Over 20 artists accepted the opportunity, including works from Dave Murphy (watercolors), Marcie Wachter (photography), Peg Papa (acrylics), Georgette Toews (oils), Alex Johnson (wood models), and Carole Cascio (clay), just to name a few. Also, the Kent Island Carvers have hand carved decoys on display, according to Tom Rohe, KIFA artist and KI Carvers officer/member.
The exhibit is located at the QA County Visitors Center, 425 Piney Narrows Rd., Chester, MD. For center hours and more information go to www.qac.org or call 410-604-2100.
