KIFA’s Got Talent 2012

Art is Alive at KIFA! For the second year, ‘KIFA’s Got Talent’, has paired six community leaders with six professional artists to produce works of art. The random pairing took place at the KIFA gallery in Stevensville in September. The results of the pairing are:

David Thompson, CNB, paired with Jack Ehmann, photographer
Fred Beane, local entrepreneur, paired with Wendy Gordon, jewelry artist
Heather Guerieri, Hospice of Queen Anne’s County, paired with Maureen Bannon, painter
Lynne Kilby George, KI Yacht Club, paired with Carole Cascio, clay artist
Brenda LaCompte, Swan Cove Spa, paired with Sally Clark, furniture painter
Merry Tobin, Chesapeake Real Estate Associates, paired with Heidi Wetzel, basket & fiber artist

The artists will work with their guest-artist for a period of 2 1/2 months. The finished works of art will be auctioned off during a fundraising event to benefit the Kent Island Federation of Arts on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Kentmoor Restaurant.

KIFA hopes to generate lots of excitement around the finished pieces and to see who will receive the highest bid. Last year this really fun and energetic fund raiser brought in thousands of dollars to help fund KIFA’s mission of providing art exhibits and art educational programs.

Let your friends and family, business associates and/or customers know of the event so they can come and bid on their favorite VIP Artist’s finished work. Tickets are available through the www.KIFA.us or by calling KIFA at 410-643-7424. Ticket prices are $35 per person/$60 per couple.
