A registered sex offender pled guilty to the murder of an eleven-year-old Eastern Shore girl. In exchange, prosecutors took the possibility of the death penalty off the table, and Thomas Leggs Junior was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Sarah Foxwell. Searchers found Foxwell’s burned body on Christmas Day 2009 several days after she disappeared from her Salisbury home. Leggs’ plea came in a Cecil County courtroom after the case was moved from Wicomico County.
