In Memory of Michael Clark Schwink
The Schwink Family is organizing the 2nd Annual Toy Drive in loving memory of their son and brother Michael Clark Schwink.
Pat and Glenn (Michael’s Parents) and brother Chris and his wife Laura need your help in bringing Christmas joy to children who must spend the holidays in a hospital.
Michael was a 23 year old firefighter and certified EMT from Queen Anne’s County and a 2003 graduate of Kent Island High School. He passed away in 2009 after an 18 month battle with cancer.
Michael had an incredible love for children and also had a special fondness for Christmas. He loved playing SANTA and watching the childrens faces light up and listening to them laugh.. So what better way to honor his memory then a TOY DRIVE for special children.
THE SCHWINKY TOY DRIVE is looking for NEW toys for children 6 weeks old to 21 years of age.
Collection boxes have been placed around the area.. The Stepping Stones Child Care Center, The Island Ink Tattoo Shop, The Island Athletic Club (down by the Narrows), The Sheriff Department, The Dollar General Store in Stevensville, Rams Head on Main Street in Stevensville.
The Kent Island Cruisers will be having their annual Halloween car show at the Kent Island Vol. Fire Department parking lot on Oct. 27th Saturday where there will be a box placed for toys to be dropped off .. Also The Kent Island Cruisers will be having a car show at the AutoZone at Thompson Creek on Nov. 10th and a box for toys will be placed there too…
The collections for the THE SCHWINKY TOY DRIVE has started and will continue until Dec. 5, 2012.
The Schwink Family will be delivering the Toys to THE KENNEDY KRIEGER HOSPITAL AND THE PACT UNIT (a day care center for medical little children) in Baltimore, Maryland .
