Library to Present Acclaimed Children’s Performer

On Wednesday, July 14, the Talbot County Free Library will present acclaimed children’s performer Tracey Eldridge in an interactive program for all ages entitled “Up, Down, ‘Round, & Round: Mother Nature Makes a Splash.”  With songs, hand jives, sound identification, riddles, puppetry, and rhymes, Eldridge will pay tribute to nature’s most precious gift, exploring the roles water plays in all our lives.

“Parenting Magazine” has listed Eldridge’s music “among its best ‘Music for Your Toddler’ choices.”  The School Library Journal calls her songs “polished and professionally performed.”  On his website (“A Family Runs Through It”), one parent wrote, “What we heard was a collection of highly-polished full band recordings in styles ranging from Dixieland to Rockabilly to Zydeco.  And we’re all in love with Tracey’s gorgeous voice.  She reminds me of two of my favorite singers, K.D. Lang and Karen Carpenter.”

Eldridge will present “Up, Down, ‘Round, & Round: Mother Nature Makes a Splash” twice on July 14, first at 10:30 a.m. in the Easton Elementary School’s Moton Gym (307 Glenwood Avenue), and again at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Michaels Library.  The program is free and open to the public, but tickets are needed to attend the St. Michaels performance.  The free tickets for the St. Michaels performance can be picked up at the St. Michaels library beginning July 7.  Patrons are advised there are only a limited number of tickets available for the 2:00 p.m. performance.  Patrons do not need tickets for the performance in the Moton Gym, nor do they need to pre-register for that performance.  For more information, call the library at 410-822-1626, or visit www.tcfl.org.
