Local Cinema Book wins National Award

STARDUST BY THE BUSHEL: HOLLYWOOD ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY’S EASTERN SHORE
has won a national award – specifically the Silver Medal in the 2023 Independent Publisher Book Awards in the category of Performing Arts! https://ippyawards.com/169/medalists/2023-medalists-1-54

Thanks to Ron Sauder and Secant Publishing for always believing in STARDUST BY THE BUSHEL. Because of Secant’s dedication to their authors and the support provided, not only did STARDUST score a win, but two other books published by this Delmarva literary treasure also garnered recognition. The science fiction novel WHEN EARTH SHALL BE NO MORE by Paul Awad and Kathryn O’Sullivan won a bronze medal and THE ISAIAH FOUNTAIN CASE: OUTRAGE AND JIM CROW JUSTICE ON MARYLAND’S EASTERN SHORE by Joseph Koper took home the gold in the Mid-Atlantic Best Regional Nonfiction!

Other IPPY Awards this year went to such distinguished publishers as The MIT Press, Texas A&M University Press, and the White House Historical Association, while the list of this year’s winners includes NPR’s Richard Aquila, noted photographer William Frej, and for his cocktail recipe book, the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar.

That’s pretty good company if I do say so myself.

So, for the first time, please allow me to officially tell you…drum roll, please…
