LOCAL NONPROFIT WINS TWO NATIONAL AWARDS

Salisbury, MD — The Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore team is proud to announce they have received two national awards from JA USA based on their impact and overall performance. These two new awards come on the tails of their recent Henson Nonprofit Award of Excellence from the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.

Out of 107 Junior Achievement area offices in the country, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore was one of only 17 offices to be selected for a 2017/2018 Peak Performance Team Award. This award recognizes superior annual performance by a JA Area team in achieving growth in students reached or contact hours delivered, while sustaining financial and operational soundness.

In addition to the 2017/2018 Peak Performance Team Award, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore was also presented with the 2017/2018 5-Star Award. Only 45 area offices out of the 107 in the country received this award. This award recognizes staff and boards in JA Areas that meet JA USA’s operational standards for compliance, student impact, operational efficiency, financial stability, and sustainability.

“We are so honored to be recognized for the hard work our donors, board members, and staff pour into our organization,” said Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore President, Jayme Hayes. “Our goal is to always do the right thing and have the most impact spending the least amount of money. Receiving these awards solidifies that we’re consistently achieving this goal.”

Junior Achievement’s programs focus on financial literacy and economic success so awards touting the financial strength of their organization are even more befitting. In the 2017/2018 fiscal year, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore served 8,151. In the 2018/2019 fiscal year, Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore is on track to reach more than 9,000 students.
