This year’s SADD National Conference will feature two local public speakers, Terry Ober, a retired Maryland State Trooper and former Community Traffic Safety Coordinator and Tom McKnight, a MADD volunteer since 2007. Both men began their public speaking careers in 2007 to educate our youth about the dangers and costs relating to drunk driving. Terry and Tom are instructors for the RESET Program, an early intervention education for youth involved in drug and alcohol use serving our youth locally. This will be Terry’s and Tom’s fourth SADD National Conference where they will be among many presenters from across the country providing workshops that allow over six hundred SADD members to gain insight on topics that encourage youth to remain drug free and also allows these members to gain knowledge of programs and presentations to take back to their own schools and communities. The conference is being held June 24-27th in Torrance, California. This trip was made possible through the generous donations from State Farm Insurance, Kent Island Elks Lodge #2576, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Sharp Energy and Campbell’s Driving School. Tom and Terry wish to thank these businesses for their support!
