The residents of the Londonderry Retirement Community invite the general public to the first Spring Festival on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 700 Port Street in Easton, MD. The event, sponsored by the residents of Londonderry, will include a tour of several unique cottages and apartments on the Tred Avon River. Visitors will have the opportunity to view resident-designed patios and gardens, and even an art studio, as well as to explore Londonderry’s landscaped grounds and paths while listening to a traveling calliope built by resident Ed Schmidt. Exhibits of resident art work will be shown in several cottages, showcasing the artistic talent of Londonderry’s residents.

The Manor House, a mid-1800’s Gothic Revival stone villa, which has been restored for special events, will also be open for tours. Local thespian, David Foster, will bring the history of The Manor House alive through brief dramatic presentations at 12 noon, 1 and 2 p.m. Guests will enjoy beverages and cookies on the sun porch and patio of the Londonderry Community Center and the Scottish Highland Creamery will be on hand dispensing its popular homemade ice cream.
