Londonderry Retirement Community in Easton is offering two workshops on issues related to the aging process. The first workshop, “Are You Ready Yet?” will be held on September 29, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Amy Schine, Geriatric Care Manager/GeriEd Consulting, will explore the decision making process in moving to a retirement community, changes that come with aging, planning for future needs, options for aging in place, senior housing choices, and finding peace of mind for the future. Lunch will be provided between 12:15 and 1:15 p.m., followed by entertainment from 1:15 to 2 p.m. by John Dodge from Artful Dodger’s Entertainment, providing magic, comedy, and ventriloquism. The second workshop, “What is a Senior Housing Cooperative?” will be held on October 11 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Londonderry staff will explore the equity opportunity, tax benefits, benefits of self management, affordable monthly fees, occupancy agreements, capital maintenance and benevolence funds associated with senior housing cooperatives. Lunch will be provided between 11:45 and 1 p.m., followed by a program from 1 to 2:15 p.m., “Victor Borge Remembered,” presented by his daughter, Janet Borge Crowle.
