Maggie Sansone Concert

Whether or not you believe Ireland’s patron saint, Patrick did any of the many things legend has him doing or if you have any Irish heritage at all, most Americans enjoy celebrating all things Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.  This year, in addition to drumming up some corned beef and cabbage, quaffing a Guinness or Harp’s and wearing green socks, neckties or sweaters bearing shamrocks why not spend an evening enjoying incredible Irish music?

Start your St. Patrick’s celebration with Maggie Sansone and friends.  The concert is Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Four Winds Performing Arts Center.

Sansone on her hammered dulcimer thrilled Kent Island audiences with her Celtic Christmas Concert back in December.

Sansone is back and joined by Celtic harp player, Sue Richards and Andrea Hoag on fiddle.  The multi-talented Paul Oorts will join them as well as the Highland Bagpipe Trio. Irish step dancer, Regan Riley will be there as well.  This lively combination is sure to please with a program filled with Irish favorites, audience sing-alongs and rousing music to get the audience in a celebratory mood!

Sansone describes her musical style as “cool  Celtic – a fusion of ancient sounds and modern sensibility, fueled by the innovative use of old and new instruments. And at the center of it all, there are the percussive yet melodious sounds of her wooden mallets dancing across the dulcimer’s seventy strings.”

Tickets are $20 and available at www.fourwindspac.org.  For more information, call 888-770-4120.
