The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says it will release the first batch of 200 tagged striped bass for this year’s Maryland Fishing Challenge. Organizers say one of the fish to be released this year is Diamond Jim, which is worth $10,000 if it is caught. Other tagged fish are worth at least $500. The Department of Natural Resources says if Diamond Jim is not caught, the prize money will be distributed among those who catch the other tagged fish. The event runs through Labor Day.
