Maryland Primary Care Physicians-Kent Island invites patients, neighbors, friends and the community to participate in the third annual “Dress to Donate” event on Monday, October 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. “Dress to Donate” is an employee-organized event with a Halloween theme which promotes teamwork, informs employees about end-of-life care, and raises funds for Hospice of Queen Anne’s.
Each of the five departments in this busy medical practice competes for best overall demonstration of a Halloween theme by dressing in costume and decorating their work areas, some with elaborate props. Patients and visitors to the clinic that day are eligible to vote for the department they think best displays a theme by making a cash donation to that department. Donations are then presented to Hospice of Queen Anne’s.
Information about home hospice and pre-hospice programs, residential center hospice care and grief support services will be provided for staff, patients and visitors.
“This is a great opportunity for the medical providers and employees to work together on a fun project while benefiting Hospice of Queen Anne’s, the organization we work closely with to provide a special kind of care for our patients with advanced and terminal illnesses,” said James Chamberlain, M.D.
Last year’s event raised $1,090 for Hospice of Queen Anne’s. Employees are hoping to exceed that amount this year.
