Mid-Shore Choose Three Plein Air–Easton! Competition Winners to be Announced June 3

Plein Air–Easton! may not officially start until July, but the first party to kick off the excitement of the  plein air season is tonight when the winners of the 7th Annual Mid-Shore Choose Three Plein Air–Easton! Competition are announced.

Local artists residing in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties have the chance to showcase their work and vie for a spot in the Choose Three Competition. The Mid Shore paint-out began in May when artists hit the streets to create two competition submissions. Paintings and drawings were required to depict outdoor scenes from anywhere on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. A panel of judges will announce their decisions when the exhibit opens to the public tonight at the Talbot County Visual Arts Center during Easton’s First Friday Gallery Walk from 5-8pm.

Awards in the Mid-Shore Choose Three Plein Air–Easton! Competition will be presented tonight at 7pm. The top three artists automatically qualify to enter the Plein Air–Easton! National Competition held July 18-24.

The exhibit will continue to be displayed from June 3 to July 31. During the exhibit’s run, visitors may vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be presented July 29. The Talbot County Visual Arts Center is located in the TalbotTown Shopping Center (entrance on lane to right of Piazza Italian Market).
