MID-SHORE NURSING ASSISTANT COUNCIL PLANS 2014 RECOGNITION DAY FOR AREA CNAs
Members of the Mid-Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council are planning the NURSING ASSISTANT RECOGNITION DAY AND AWARD CEREMONY. Employers of Nursing Assistants nominate CNAs who demonstrate exceptional dedication to healthcare, compassion for others, leadership skills, work ethic, professionalism and team work. The winner of the 2014 “CNA of the Mid-Shore” award will be announced at the Nursing Assistant Recognition and Awards Ceremony to be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 12:30pm – 2:30pm. Each year this event is held at a different facility. This year it will be held at Homestead Manor in Denton. Each nursing assistant nominated will receive recognition and a gift. The winner will receive a plaque, flowers and a monetary award. Family members and supervisors are welcomed to register for this event. The Keynote Speaker will be Lon Kieffer, nationally known as “The Defender of Caregivers”. Refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is required. Registration fee is $10.00.
Many area employers and businesses contributed to this event: Home Instead Senior Care, Visiting Angels, Homestead Manor, Candlelight Cove, Comfort Keepers, William Hill Manor, Chesapeake College, Mabel’s Bakery, Chili’s, Suicide Bridge Restaurant, Easton Bowl, Olive Garden, Renee Toomey of West Wing Salon, Joe’s Bagel Café, In Japan, Easton and Cambridge Cinema, St. Michael’s Winery, and Brooke Dahlgren Designs. The proceeds from the Raffle Gift Basket (valued at over $500.00) will support the Mid-Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council in its efforts to recognize the nursing assistant career as a specialty and advocate for the promotion of professionalism among nursing assistants in the Maryland Mid-Shore area. The winner of the raffle will be announced on March 27, 2014. Tickets can be purchased by any member of the Mid-Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council.
