More Rockfish Violations

Maryland Natural Resources Police say two commercial fishermen have been charged with striped bass violations. Dolan Lee Hurley, 67-years-old of Cambridge, was charged with failing to tag striped bass within 200 yards of his net. Officers found 500 pounds of untagged striped bass onboard a commercial vessel more than 1,000 yards from the net. Charges against 52-year-old Robert Hodge Newberry of Crumpton include possession of untagged and undersized striped bass. Newberry was charged after the commercial fishing vessel Open Ticket was boarded near Sharps Island. An August 17 trial date was scheduled for both in Dorchester County District Court.
