Mosaics Class in Grasonville

Talented artist and business owner Candace Liccione offers a two-day class through the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council on mosaics. “Mosaics: Make a Stepping Stone” guides students in a fun and easy project for all ages. Work with a square concrete stone to create a pattern in mosaics along the sides and top of the stone. Then learn how to choose and cut tiles, create a design, and glue and grout decorative stones. When complete, the pieces can be added to a garden or walkway, creating a whimsical and fascinating focal point in any yard or outdoor space.

The class is Thursday, March 15 and March 22 from 7 to 9 pm and will be held off-site at Wye River Designs, 4300 Main Street in Grasonville. Registration deadline is March 6 and cost is $32 for members of the Arts Council and $40 for non-members. The class is open to ages 14 and older.

Liccione grew up in the craft industry with her family’s business Aleene’s Tacky Glue. She has been teaching crafts for many years as the owner of a gift shop in Philadelphia and a farm in Pennsylvania. She owns Wye River Designs where she teaches mosaics, jewelry making, collage, rubberstamping, and mixed media arts and crafts. Visit the website, www. wyeriverdesigns.com.
