Hospice of Queen Anne’s is celebrating National Hospice Month. November is National Hospice Month and hospices across the country are reaching out to raise awareness about important care issues for people coping with life-limiting illness.
Many people think hospice care is just about dying. Hospice care is more than that—hospice brings comfort and support to families and patients alike. It reaches out to provide support for the family and friends who love and care for them.
All of us will face a time when a family member or dear friend becomes terminally ill. Yet few of us know what to do, where to find help, which questions to ask, what to
anticipate, and above all, how to cope.
Hospice of Queen Anne’s is privileged to serve the citizens of Queen Anne’s County and surrounding areas. Hospice care honors life’s final journey, leaving a legacy of compassion and care. Hospice brings comfort, dignity and peace to help people live every moment of life to the fullest.
Hospice is more than traditional health care. Hospice and palliative care programs provide pain management, symptom control, bereavement support and spiritual care to patients and their families when a cure is not possible. Hospice care combines the highest level of quality medical care with the emotional and spiritual support that families need most when facing the end of life. Every year, more than 1.4 million people living with a life-limiting illness receive care from hospice providers in this country.
